<p>PURPOSE:To detect a sheet member securely by composing a sheet member detecting mechanism of a member to be detected moved by action of the sheet member and a detecting means for that, and giving a function of a guide means for the sheet member to the detected member. CONSTITUTION:If a sheet member is inserted from a table 60 of a manual supply means 56, a detecting switch 84 detects it by rotation of a detecting arm 86, and transfer is started by action of a pair of transfer rollers 44, where copying is started if a detecting switch 104 detects it. In the meanwhile, if the sheet member is supplied from an automatic supply means 58, a feed roller 74 rotates to feed the sheet member in a cassette 68 so as to push up an acting part 96 of a detected member 94 to guide it with a guide protrusion 66, and if an optical detecting means 92 detects a detected part 98 by rotation of the detected member 94, the pair of transfer rollers 44 actuate to start transfer, where copying is started if the detecting switch 104 detects it. The sheet member can thus be securely detected in a relatively small space.</p> |
