PURPOSE: To easily and clearly sub-divide the whole pile by sub-dividing the whole pile of a sheet material such as paper to a plurality of partial piles having a prescribed number of sheets without using any marking. CONSTITUTION: A partial pile 19 is in contact with a stopper 2, and reaches a prescribed finish pile height. A push-out member 5 is extended, a guide member 14 is lowered in the direction of an arrow A, and a protruding member 32 is lowered until it is supported on the pile 19. Each sheet of a sheet material 18 is stacked to form a partial pile 20. The sheet is delivered by conveying rollers 3, 4 and freely fallen. The thickness of the pile 20 is controlled by a sensor 33, the stopper 2 is lifted up, and the push-out member 6 presses the pile 20 to move it to the position of a stopper 1. Thus, the pile 20 is protruded by the thickness of the stopper 2 and supported on the pile 19. Piles 21, 22, 23, 30 are formed in the same manner. |
