PURPOSE:To improve ribbon running feature, shelf life at normal temp. and pressure sensitive transfer feature, by providing, together with an ink layer, a transfer feature regulating layer as a top coat using polyamide and rosin ester on a ribbon base of an ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink ribbon 10 consists of an ink layer 12 formed on one surface of a film-like ribbon base 11, and a transfer feature regulating layer 13 formed in a given thickness on the layer 12. A sticking prevention layer 14 consisting of a heat-resisting resin (e.g., silicone resin) is formed on the other surface of the ribbon base 11. The transfer feature regulating layer 13 uses polyamide as a resin having large film forming feature and thermal adhesion feature and also rosin ester as a resin having large cohesion power and tackiness. |
