PURPOSE:To effectively prevent fluctuation of an image in the subscanning direction by correcting the length of one line at the period of an image clock. CONSTITUTION:Reference clocks I-VI from a reference clock 30 are applied to a reference clock selecting circuit 32, and the circuit 32 detects the position of a reflection face in accordance with the position detection signal from a polygon position detecting element 20 and the synchronous detection signal of a synchronous detecting element 18 and selects a reference clock corresponding to the reflection face used at present and sends this clock to a phase synchronizing circuit 34. The phase synchronizing circuit 34 synchronizes the phase of the inputted reference clock with that of the synchronous detection signal from the synchronous detecting element 18 and sends the phase synchronized clock to a host machine 36 or the like as the image clock. Since the reference clock corresponding to the reflection face is used, the length of one line is fixed independently of the reflection face and the terminal-side position of scanning is uniformized. Thus, fluctuation of the image in the subscanning direction is effectively reduced. |
