The process is one of moulding with an envelope applied to the interior surface of the mould for finishing the sidewalls of the heel. An identification part with sharp-pointed ends for centering and fixing is inserted in the mould over the sheet envelope material, so that with application of heat and pressure in moulding, it penetrates into the plastic mass. After solidification, it remains at a level above the side surface of the basic part, perfectly embedded and visible from the outside. The insert is of material which is thermally and mechanically stable at the moulding temp. and pressure.
