The spraying installation comprises, according to the main patent, a unit 11 for changing the coating product. On the output side of the unit for changing colour are placed a gear pump 50 and a flow sensor 30, these being followed by a delivery pipe 12 which includes a reservoir section 41 capable of containing the volume of coating product for one operation, which ends in a sprayer 13 connected to a switchable high-voltage source 13a. According to the invention, in order to use relatively conducting coating products, the rinsing fluid is insulating and the reservoir section 41 is preceded by a guard pipe 112 which is sufficiently long and narrow to be insulating when it is filled with rinsing product. When the sensor 30 has measured that a suitable volume of coating product has passed, the pump 50 subsequently injects the insulating rinsing product which pushes the coating product into the sprayer 13. <IMAGE>
