System of control for roller blinds in which the blind is rolled round a tube turned by a mechanism with conical gears, associated with a non-reversing brake which is operated by a control rod which is itself turned by a universal joint/handle/control rod system. The system is characterised in that the control rod 7 operated by the handle and driving the mechanism with conical gears 17, 25 is fixed to slide inside the assembly of non-reversing brake/gears. <IMAGE>
