The invention relates to an extractable tuner-controller device having a format similar to that of a credit card, connected to an amplifier system integral with the vehicle, this considerably reducing the risks of theft, the principal element being able to be kept without problem on one's person. This device is constituted by an amplifier system 1 integral with, for example, the dashboard of the vehicle 2. A slot provided with a plug-in system 3 enables the tuner controller 4 to be inserted and rendered operational. The tuner controller, provided with a plug-in system 5, has, on its visible part after having been fitted into the slot 3, a liquid-crystal display 6 as well as digital controls 7 for frequency searching and for wavelength selection. Slots 8 and 9 can be provided for the use of cassettes and of compact (laser) discs. The invention, applicable to any type of vehicle, is particularly intended for preventing theft. <IMAGE>
