A seal (1) and a method for sealing a portion of an annulus between the seal (1) and a bore (2) are described, the seal (1) comprising : - a sealing element (3) arranged around a portion of an elongated body (10) provided with a cone (12); - a pusher body (20) arranged to drive the sealing element (3) at least along the cone (12) from a first, inactive position where the cone (12) has a first external diameter, into a second, active position where the cone (12) has a second external diameter which is larger than the first diameter, at least one of the pusher body (20) and the cone (12) being provided with a plurality of cutting-edge elements (22, 23) configured to produce slits (24, 24') in the sealing element. |
