摘要

Device for measuring the temp. of molten metal comprises a light pipe (1) optically coupled to a pyrometer (5), the light pipe being formed of ruby contg. 0.01-0.1 wt% Cr calculated as Cr3+ ions. The geometrics axis of the light pipe is aligned at 20-60 deg. to the crystallographic c-axis of the ruby; and the pyrometer has a working spectral range of 0.65-3.00 micron.
