PURPOSE:To automatically stop printing after printing on the full area of a form paper while avoiding erroneous striking on a platen even at the time of erroneous feeding-in and printing of a small-size form paper, by a method wherein line counting is performed at the time of feeding in a slip form paper, and the region of the paper available for printing is detected and stored in a memory. CONSTITUTION:First, the slip form paper 7 is fed into a guide groove 19, and when this condition is detected by an upper-end detector 17, a CPU21 sends a starting signal for driving to a slip-driving circuit 22, whereby a driving shaft 9 is driven to draw in the paper 7. At this time, the paper 7 is passed through a gap of a lower-end detecting part 18, and a detection signal is outputted to the CPU21. Consequently, a counter provided in the CPU21 is reset and counts up the lines synchronously with the slip-driving circuit 22. Every time the printing of one line by a printing head 20 is completed, the counter in the CPU21 is caused to count down, and the circuit 22 is stopped when the count value coincides with a set point. EFFECT:The platen is prevented from being damaged. |
