PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance useful as an intermediate convertible into an organosilicon element and material without requiring a subsidiary raw material, by reacting an aromatic hydrocarbon with disilane in the presence of a cobalt complex of an organic phosphorus compound while irradiating the aromatic hydrocarbon with light rays. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, tetralin or naphthalene) is reacted with disilane in the presence of a cobalt, rhodium or indium complex of at least organic phosphorus compound selected from the group consisting of phosphine, phosphonite, phosphinite and phosphite or at least one of the organic phosphorus compounds and a cobalt, rhodium or indium compound while irradiating the aromatic hydrocarbon with light rays (preferably mercury lamp, tungsten lamp or halogen lamp) to give the aimed substance. |
