PURPOSE:To supply a high power at a low voltage by using generator, AC to DC converter, DC cable, breaker and transformer made by application of high-temperature or ordinary-temperature superconductive materials. CONSTITUTION:The voltage of a superconductive generator 1 is directly converted from AC into DC by a superconductive AC converter 2 and transmitted by a superconductive cable 3 to enable a DC power transmission at a low voltage of about 20kV. On the load side, also, said DC-transmitted power is again converted into AC by a superconductive AC to DC converter 2 and said power is supplied to a load through a superconductive transformer 5 via a superconductive breaker 4. In this manner, since a generation and transmission system is composed of superconductive apparatus, a high power can be supplied without making a transmission voltage higher and without accompanying a transmission loss. |
