PURPOSE: To obtain a nonwoven fabric having excellent strength and drapability by collecting a continuous filament group in the form of a sheet, forming a fiber fleece by the self-bonding of each crossing point, laminating the fiber fleece to a fiber web obtained by collecting a short fiber group in the form of a sheet and applying a high-pressure jet flow to the laminate. CONSTITUTION: A nonwoven fabric suitable e.g. as a base cloth for clothes such as underpants is produced with reduced energy consumption by collecting a continuous filament group (preferably polyester filament, or the like) in the form of a sheet, forming a fiber fleece by the self-bonding of each crossing point of the filament group, laminating the fiber fleece to a fiber web obtained by collecting a short fiber group (preferably rayon fiber, or the like) in the form of a sheet and applying a high-pressure jet flow (e.g. a water jet ejected from a nozzle having a nozzle diameter of 0.001-0.1 cm under a pressure of 5-400 kg/cm<2> ) to the laminate, thereby firmly interlocking the continuous fiber with the short fiber or the short fibers with each other. |
