The track for an overhead suspension system such as a transport system for an infirm person uses a rail (1) shaped on a channel with its open side downwards. The two flanges (3) are bent inwards at their free edges (4) to form the supporting surfaces for the rollers (10) which support the load (12). The flanges also carry the electrical conductors (7), the supporting member (11) for the rollers forming the current collector for the electric drive. Each conductor is formed by a copper or silver alloy strip secured by a double sided insulating adhesive strip to the inside of a flange. Alternatively, one strip is a conductor and the other is an earthing strip. USE - For transport of ill and disabled people.
