The present invention relates to a method for accurately obtaining a true stress-true strain curve of a material in high strain section by reducing the gauge length by using a digital image interpretation technique. The present invention relates to a method for extracting a true stress-true strain curve of a tensile specimen, wherein the method calculates a true stress-true strain curve of a material in high strain section by calculating a locally uniform strain via a calculation simpler than existing other attempts by making the gauge length smaller in a tensile test, which is a mechanical property evaluation method of a general material.
