Automatic locking device particularly for a motor vehicle seat belt, including a movable strap provided, at one end, with a small bolt, interacting in the service position of the belt with a clip-in lock mounted in a casing built into an element for anchoring on the floor or a fixed point of the vehicle, the lock comprising a lock bolt which can move in the housing subjected to the action of a spring for returning to the position of engagement in a keeper provided on the small bolt and brought into the release position by a pusher supported by the casing and capable of moving counter to the spring. According to the invention, the device is characterised in that it includes a means 14 for attracting the lock bolt releasing the small bolt, connected to an independent remote control member 17 itself actuated by the actuator 27 for opening the door 3 of the vehicle. <IMAGE>
