摘要 A device is proposed which is used for vertical adjustment of the upper deflection fitting for the belt of a safety-belt system. The adjustment device includes a belt which secures a person sitting in a seat which can be adjusted at least in a horizontal direction, the said belt being tensioned essentially in the shape of a triangle, a first side of which passes over the lap region of the said person and a second side of which extends from the deflection fitting to the first side via the shoulder and chest regions of the person. That section of the second belt side which extends from the deflection fitting to the shoulder of the person encloses, together with a perpendicular, a predetermined running-out angle which is automatically observed by vertical adjustment of the deflection fitting and is monitored by a drive device which is controlled by a sensor. To ensure that people of all sizes, especially people who are very large or very small in relation to the seat, can be correctly secured in all possible seat-positions, each seat position has allocated to it a specific running-off angle of the belt section leading to the shoulder of the person, which angle is modified together with the seat position in question. <IMAGE>
