PURPOSE:To shave or bend projecting parts on a rough face to obtain an image of high quality by treating the outside surface of a developer carrying member into a rough face and treating this rough face into a fine face to obtain a treated face worked in two stages. CONSTITUTION:A grinding particle spray method is adopted for treatment of a rough face 2A in the first stage of treatment of the outside surface of a developing sleeve 2 as the developer carrying member. The rough face 2A is treated into a fine face in the second stage by a fine face treating machine 8. Thus, projecting parts Y are shaven up to a projecting part upper limit line X in a figure or are bent up to this line X as shown by Y1 to treat the rough face 2A into a fine face 2B and the image of high quality is obtained. |
