The invention relates to a hollow roll for guiding web-shaped material with balancing weights which are attached to a holding device which extends in a radial plane of the roll and is mounted on the roll inner wall without damaging the roll wall. The holding device is formed by a circular part which is closed around its entire circumference and whose radius at the roll side corresponds approximately to the radius of the roll inner wall and which is attached to the roll inner wall by shrinkage and/or adhesion. At the roll-wall side, the circular part may have a recess or a plurality of recesses which are distributed around its circumference and, together with the roll inner wall, form a cavity which is filled with a curable and/or adhesive material.
