The subject of the invention is a precombustion chamber for an air- compressing internal combustion engine with fuel injection, in the mixture forming space of which a mixing combustion chamber insert is arranged, the upper part of which on the injection nozzle side has a through-passage to an inner combustion chamber in the area of the injection jet. In order to obtain a further improvement of the mixture formation, the through-passage is of tapered design, its minimum diameter being greater than that of further through-bores arranged in the upper part, and an elevation extending in the direction of the through passage is arranged on the lower part of the mixing combustion chamber insert.
