Feeding a water/air mixture to the nozzles of a cutting drum in order to cool their parting tools belongs to the prior art. If both media are introduced separately into the cutting drum, two rotary leadthrough transmissions are necessary. On the other hand, if only one rotary leadthrough transmission is used for introducing a water/air mixture, there is the risk of segregation on the way to the individual nozzles. The aim is to achieve an especially advantageous type of transfer of water and air into the rotating cutting-drum body and to supply the individual nozzles with a water/air mixture. It is proposed to feed the water/air mixture to the rotating cutting drum (3) by means of a common rotary leadthrough transmission (5) located in the drum interior, to separate both constituents from one another here in at least one separating chamber (7), and to introduce these constituents via one discharge line (13, 15) each into a mixing chamber (14) arranged directly in front of each nozzle (22). <IMAGE>
