PURPOSE:To prevent the incorporation of inclusions into molten metal and to obtain a casting ingot having high quality by applying rotating motion to the molten metal in a mold and rotating and oscillating vertically the mold around the axial line thereof. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 23 in a mold 22 is rotated and driven by the electromagnetic force of a coil 31. The mold 22 is rotated and driven in the same direction by a motor. The rotating speed of the steel 23 increases linearly toward the outer side in the radial direction, and the surface of the steel 23 draws parabola. Inclusions are gathered at the center of the dent on the surface and are easily captured, whereby the incorporation thereof into the steel 23 is prevented. The incorporation of the inclusions in the steel is also prevented by the vertical oscillations applied to the mold 22 by an oscillating means. |
