PURPOSE: To discriminate a unit of use of a card when it is started in use even when a fault such as a power failure takes place by adding an identification code to the card using a device, returning the card after eliminating the identification code when the use of the device is finished and leaving the unit of use at the start of use as it is in the card using the device. CONSTITUTION: When a card is inserted to, e.g. a card lighting controller, a card writing section 13 writes an identification code to the card and, a card carrying section 14 returns the card to the user temporarily to leave the unit of use of the card as it is to the card. When the use of the device is finished, the card is inserted again. A CPU 1 goes of a lighting light 12, and writes a remaining unit of use to the card and deletes the identification code returns the card to the user. Thus, even when a fault takes place in the device and the storage content of a memory section 3 is destroyed, the unit of use of the card at the start of use is discriminated. |
