PURPOSE:To obtain a light and rigid multi-layer foam mold by a method wherein foamable polyolefin sheet is foamed, simultaneously a synthetic resin sheet is softened, the immediately vacuum molding and press molding are effected concurrently without taking any complicated steps and with the use of foamable polyolefin sheet of foam magnification of 2-10 times as the base material. CONSTITUTION:A skin material of synthetic resin sheet 2, synthetic resin foam pad layer 5 and foamable polyolefin sheet 3a as a base are adhered to each other in the order mentioned above, and is foamed by heating with a ceramic heater 6 of a vacuum molder to form a foamed polyolefin layer 3 and soften the synthetic resin sheet 2 as the skin material. In the vacuum press molder, the foamed polyolefin layer 3 and the synthetic resin sheet 2 are so set that the former comes to a male mold 7 side and the latter comes to female vacuum mold 8 side to effect simultaneously the vacuum molding and press molding. The mold is cooled and solidified, and it is taken out of the vacuum press molder to obtain a multi-layer foam mold. |
