A door leaf 2 of a fire door exhibits advantageous properties in terms of thickness, weight and smooth running if the cavity within casing metal plate 5 and cover metal plate 6 is provided with a partition wall 9 which can be displaced in the direction of the two metal plates in the event of a fire, is prepared on both sides with an insulating-material-forming coating 8, is arranged approximately centrally and parallel to the metal plates and, in the event of a fire, can be displaced by the insulating-material-forming coating 8, which expands on the fire-side as a result of heat radiation, and the expansion force thereof in the direction of the side which is opposite the fire until it butts against that metal-plate wall of the leaf casing which is on the side opposite the fire, said partition wall being displaceable in order to permit the formation of a sufficiently thick insulating-material filling. <IMAGE>
