A lubricant filter housing is connected to an internal combustion engine by way of a pintle. In this, the axis of the pintle runs inclined to the main axis of the filter housing. In this way, the filter housing can be pushed onto the pintle with optimum accessibility and is then rotated through 180@ about its main axis, as a result of which the centre of gravity of the filter housing is moved in the direction of the engine housing or of the centre point of the connecting flange. In this way, an arrangement beneficial to the vibration dynamics is obtained.
