PURPOSE: To eliminate the danger that a gas chamber is soaked with water and that the water is carried to a patient with simple constitution by activating a movable member by means of a float on a valve seat and prohibiting the water feed to a water storage chamber. CONSTITUTION: This humidifier 1 is connected between a gas supply source connected to an inlet 32 and an outlet connected to a respiratory machine interlocked to the patient. The humidifier 1 is provided with the gas chamber 2 and the water storage chamber 3. A flexible member 20 prohibits the admission of the water into a slot 16, i.e., the water storage chamber 3 when the member is compressed toward a valve seat 15. When the water entering the gas chamber 2 from the water storage chamber 3 is above the prescribed volume, the float 25 activates the moving member 20 to the valve seat 15, thereby stopping the water feed to the water storage chamber 3. |
