An emulsion containing water, oil/fat, an emulsifying agent and insoluble solid material is filtered in a two-stage system. The first stage comprises a hydrophobic microfilter which removes the solids material. The second stage also includes a microfilter which removes the oil or fat. Pref. the microfilter of the first stage comprises multiple tubes and is fed externally, similar tubes in the second stage are fed internally. |
