PURPOSE:To obtain a printer having high printing throughput without shortening the life of a photosensitive drum, by stopping the rotation of the photosensitive drum when there is no next page printing and continuing said rotation when there is the next page printing. CONSTITUTION:A printing control part 23 applies a certain value to a variable timer 24 when the printing of the first page is finished and waits until the printing start order of the next page is emitted from a main control part 12 while the photosensitive drum 1 is rotated during this time. When the printing start order is emitted within the time, printing is rapidly performed but, when there is no order within the time, the main control part 12 refers to flags 17, 18 to judge whether the video data of the next page is present with respect to respective data buffers 15, 15 and transmits the judge result to the printing control part 23. The printing control part 23 stops the photosensitive drum 1 when there is no data and resets the variable timer 24 when there is the data to wait the printing start order of the next page while rotates the photosensitive drum 1. |
