PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductive wire which is excellent in both the mechanical strength and in superconductivity by applying a diameter reduction process to reduce the diameter repeatedly from one end and from the other end of a composite made by filling a powder in a metal pipe while forging the composite with a die. CONSTITUTION:As an oxide superconductor, is used an A-B-C-D system material (where A is one or more of the periodic table IIIa group elements such as La, Ce, Y, Yb, Dy, and Ho, B is one or more of the periodic table IIa group elements such as Sn and Ba, C is two or more elements of Cu or elements including Cu, of Ib group elements such as Cu, Ag, and Au, and Nb, and D is two or more elements of O or including O, of VIb group elements such as O, S, and Se, and VIIb group elements such as F, Cl, and Br). A powder prepared in such a way is filled in a pipe 2 made of Cu, Al, an alloy of them, a stainless steel, and the like, to produce a composite 3, and it is processed for diameter reduction by a rotary swaging device A. The composite 3 is reduced in the diameter by a die 6, and made rotatable around the axis line during this process, and also reduced the diameter from both sides alternatively. |
