<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial light-weight aggregate satisfying excellent economicity as well as light aggregate weight, by adding inorganic powder having low apparent specific gravity to a main raw material composed of a clay mineral waste having self-sustaining combustibility, forming the mixture into a prescribed form and subjecting the product to self-sustaining combustion in a vertical kiln. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a main raw material composed of a clay mineral waste having self-sustaining combustibility (e.g. deposited sludge or coal ash) optionally added with 1-3% of pulp spent liquor or dust coal is added with 2-10pts.wt. of inorganic powder having low apparent specific gravity (<=1.0) and a particle diameter of <=3mm and the obtained mixture is formed in a prescribed form. The formed product is subjected to self-sustaining combustion at 1,000-1,200 deg.C in a vertical kiln to sinter the product by the heat of combustion.</p> |
