The perfluoroalkyL surfactant (PAS) of the general formual CxF2x+1(CH2)nS(CH2)n,CO2M wherein x is an integer of 3-8, each of n and n min is an interger of 2-4 and may be the same or different and M is hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium, provides an oral composition, such as a dentifrice or a mouthwash with effect in prevent plaque formation. A preferred PAS is Zonyl FSA, C3-8F7-17(CH2)2S(CH2)2COOLi.
