POWER SOURCE DEVICE FOR CHARGED PARTICLE ACCELERATION

摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of semiconductor elements composing a shut down device for load current at a time of abnormality in a DC side by shutting off load current with a semiconductor type AC power adjustment device forcedly arc-extinguished at the time of abnormality in the AC side. CONSTITUTION:In an acceleration power source device used for a neutral parti cle incident device, AC voltage supplied from a terminal T is stepped down with a stepdown transformer 7, and then applied to a semiconductor type AC power adjustment device 7 having an force arc-extinguishing function. Power adjusted is applied to a rectifier 4 via a transformer 3, and DC voltage of high voltage rectified is applied to an ion source 6 which is a load. The protection of the load 6 at a time of a short-circuit accident is made by a high-speed shutdown of load current of the device 7. Thus the number of semiconductor elements composing a shutdown device for load current can be reduced.
