PURPOSE:To mechanize detecting work by detecting an image for each picture element unit and detecting the picture element part of an image which is not continued to any peripheral picture element as a minute unnecessary or defective part. CONSTITUTION:In an exposure detecting means 10, a fluorescent lamp, a LED array 11 (for transmission), a LED array 12 (for reflection, i.e. for printing paper) are used as illuminating light sources (exposing means), a CCD photodetecting element (detecting means) 13 is arranged rectangularly to the carrying direction, an input means 16 is connected to a CPU 15 and the exposing means 11 or 12 is driven by an instruction outputted from a detecting controller 14 through a computer 15 based on the inputted size and a detecting pitch. An image is detected for each picture element and the picture element part of an image which is not continued to any peripheral picture element is detected as a minute unnecessary or defective part on the basis of the information of 4 or 8 peripheral picture elements contacted around a certain picture element. Thus, the detecting work can be mechanized. |
