PURPOSE: To provide an expansible and contractible wiper having a large wiping area by providing an arm extension part on a channel-like arm mounted on a head part fixed to a drive shaft through a spring pressing part in such a manner as to be slidable through a wear resisting part, and connecting the wear resisting part by a ball joint and a rod. CONSTITUTION: A U-shaped sectional channel-like wiper arm 2 is mounted on a head part 1 of wiper base end fixed to a drive shaft A-B through a pivot 6, a spring 4, and a spring support part 4a. The inner surface of the arm 2 is covered with a wear resisting synthetic resin-made sliding material 13, and a sliding member 9 made of the same synthetic resin is provided in such a manner as to be slidable, and an arm extension part 3a is mounted on the tip side thereof. Ball joints 10, 11 are provided on the lower surface of the sliding member 9, and connected and fixed through a rod 12 to a position distant from the arm drive shaft. When the wiper arm is rotated, the arm extension part 3 is slid to the arm, and a wide wiping area can be provided. According to this, the structure of the sliding guide mechanism of the sliding member can be simplified. |
