This mobile information device comprises: a guidance processing unit which superimposes on a camera image a guidance image showing where the parts of a human body to be measured are to be placed; an imaging processing unit which determines whether a reference object of a predetermined size is completely within the camera image and captures a still image to generate image data when it is determined that the above is true; and a measurement processing unit which extracts the contour of the parts being measured from the image data and calculates the actual size of the parts being measured on the basis of the reference object and the extracted contour of the parts being measured. |
