PURPOSE:To attain simultaneous observation with a number of persons by synthesizing the display of right and left images to be arranged on the same display screen with a reflecting mirror and executing the stereoscopic vision of the synthesized display through a glasses to have a polarizing characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The left image is reflected by a half transmitting mirror 7 and reaches a polarizing filter 8 to be set in front of an observer. Then, for the right image, the image is reflected by a full-reflecting mirror 6 and enlarged by a lens 9. For the lens 9, since the sizes of the right and left images are different by the difference of the optical path length of the right and left images at the time of reaching to the observer, this difference is corrected and the right image, which passes through this lens 9, passes through the half transmitting mirror 7 and reaches the polarizing filter 8. The left image passes through a polarizing filter 5 and a filter 11 which has the same polarizing characteristic as the polarizing filter 5, and reaches the eye of the observer. On the other hand, the right image passes through filters 4 and 8 and reaches the eye in the same way as the left image, however, it can not pass through the filter 11. Thus, the right and left images are synthesized and observed by the full- reflecting mirror 6 and the half reflecting mirror 7. |
