PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of crack starting points in a base metal, to improve quality and to reduce working cost by placing members opposite to the base metal at prescribed intervals and covering the surfaces of the weld starting parts of the base metal with members proof against high temp. CONSTITUTION:Members 2 are placed opposite to a base metal 1 at prescribed intervals and the surfaces of the weld starting parts 3 of the base metal 1 are covered with members 10 proof against high temp. Electroslag welding is then carried out. By this method, weld crack can be prevented, stable quality can be ensured, yield is increased and the control of daily program is facilitated. |
