Provided are: a rubber article reinforcing steel cord with better cutting resistance than prior cords; and a pneumatic tire using same. The present invention is a rubber article reinforcing steel cord 20 having a twisted layer structure of a core 11 obtained from two core filaments 1 and a sheath 12 obtained by twisting together seven or eight sheath filaments 2 around the core 11. The two core filaments 1 configuring the core 11 are twisted together. |
