The subject matter of the invention is a method for pumping water through the ice and a device for application of the method. At present obtaining water from under the ice requires large holes to be made in the ice, which is a laborious task. According to the invention an essentially circular hole 2 is formed in the ice 1, an elongated pipe 3 is placed in the hole, at either end of which pipe there are openings 4, 5 for the water, of which one opening 4 is provided with a valve 6, and the diameter of the pipe being smaller than the diameter of the hole. The pipe is moved vertically in the hole, so that as the pipe is lowered downwards, the water flows in through the opening 4 into the pipe, through this and through the opening 5 up above the ice, and when the pipe is moved upwards, the valve 6 present in the opening 4 prevents the water escaping down the pipe. A pump according to the invention comprises an elongated pipe 3, each end of which is provided with openings 4, 5 for the water and in one opening 4 of which a valve 6 is located. <IMAGE> |
