<p>Injection lance comprises a metal injection tube emerging outside the lance close to its end and a refractory casing surrounding the injection tube at a certain distance from it and fitted with a tubular metal envelope coaxial to the injection tube and adjacent to the inner surface of the refractory casing. The envelope extends upwards beyond the refractory casing and in the annular space between the injection tube and the metal envelope it is provided by means of a feed pipe with a cooling agent that spreads itself substantially over the whole length of the injection tube and emerges into the annular space close to the end of the injection tube. The tubular metal envelope presents, in its extended part, some means of introducing the feed pipe into the injection tube and some means of assuring the evacuation of the cooling agent.</p> |
