PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that can appropriately convey a medium without staining a developer image transferred onto the surface of the medium even when the tip of the medium is curled toward the surface of a photoreceptor drum, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided a developing device that includes an image carrier that carries a developer image, a frame that holds the image carrier, and a separation member that is attached to the frame to be brought into contact with or close to the surface of the image carrier to separate a medium adhered to the image carrier, where the separation member includes a protrusion protruding toward the medium to be conveyed, and the protrusion includes a first ridge part inclined from the image carrier toward the downstream in a medium conveyance direction to guide the medium separated from the image carrier, and a second ridge part extending from an end of the first ridge part toward the downstream in the medium conveyance direction substantially parallel to an attachment surface of the separation member to guide the medium having been guided by the first ridge part. Also provided is an image forming apparatus including the developing device. |
