The plate body is inserted by a handling device into a press tool (12,13). The tool forms a first zone (20) where the plate is deformed completely, and an adjacent zone (21) where the plate is only partially deformed. Then, the plate is moved and/or turned for re-insertion in the press tool where it is deformed so that at least a part of the partially deformed zone and possibly a further zone (22) are completely deformed. If necessary, the process is repeated so that successively deformed parts of the plate form a cohesive, completely deformed area. The extent of the deformation is determined by control of the movement pattern of the handling device. |
