This invention is a rack and pinion type power steering gear assembly of a vehicle. This power steering gear assembly comprises a toothed rotational shaft, a pinion, an electric motor, a power transmission assembly and motor controllers. The rotational shaft is axially movable. The electric motor transmits power through the power transmission assembly with a nut which includes a rotatable member having an internal thread and several balls in engagement with the internal and external thread. The pinion is disposed in meshing engagement with the rack teeth of the shaft. |
