Provided is a method in which a terminal device that changes a carrier sense threshold from a prescribed value and a terminal device that does not change a carrier sense threshold from a prescribed value coexist suitably. This terminal device, which performs communication with a base station device, is provided with: a carrier sense unit that controls a carrier sense threshold that is implemented for controlling a transmission opportunity; a transmission power control unit that implements transmission power control when the carrier sense threshold is subjected to change control; and a reception unit that receives a frame transmitted by the base station device.
