PURPOSE:To obtain a recording image of good image quality by making a running cost low and improving transfer characteristics, by a method wherein an ink image of which transfer characteristics are varied by applying electric energy corresponding to an image signal to ink is formed, and the ink image is transferred to a medium to be transferred via an intermediate transfer medium. CONSTITUTION:Voltage of a pattern state corresponding to an image signal is impressed to ink 2 to be moved following rotation of an ink transfer roll 1 at an energy applicable position with a recording head 6, and current flows to the ink transfer roll 1 from each electrode 6b via an intermediate transfer medium 5 and the ink 2. Selective tackiness is given to the ink 2 and an ink image which has been made sol state is formed. The ink image 2a is transferred to the intermediate transfer medium 5 which moves in the arrow B direction, and the ink image 2a is transferred by pressurizing onto a medium to be transferred 8 at a transferring position with a transfer roller 17. Further, current is applied to the intermediate transfer medium 5 from a power supply 10 via brushes 12a, 12b in recording, and the intermediate transfer medium 5 is heated. The ink image 2a transferred to the intermediate transfer medium 5 keeps a sol state, and is efficiently transferred to the medium to be transferred 8. |
