PURPOSE:To enable a test of printing to be carried out irrespective of the thickness of a medium to be printed, by a construction wherein a measuring surface is supported separately from the supporting of an image scanner, the measuring surface can be slidden along measuring surface support rods through springs, and differences in the thickness of the medium are absorbed by the spring. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of measuring surface support rods 9 are erected on a mount base 1, spring fixtures 10 are attached to the support rods 9, metallic supports 5 for a measuring surface are slidably fitted to the support rods 9, and the measuring surface 6 formed of a glass is fitted to the metallic supports 5. The metallic supports 5 and the spring fixtures 10 are connected to each other by springs 10. When a medium 3 printed by a printer is supplied through a feeding line 12 onto a medium-positioning base 2, the base 2 is moved in the direction of an arrow A to bring the medium 3 into close contact with the measuring surface 6. When the medium 3 is thick, the springs 11 are extended against the elasticity thereof, whereby the measuring surface is pressed, and an appropriate degree of close contact is maintained between the measuring surface and the medium. With the medium 3 maintained in close contact with the measuring surface, an image scanner 7 is operated to scan, thereby discriminating printed data. Thus, a test of printing can be carried out under optimum conditions, irrespective of the thickness of the medium. |
