PURPOSE:To prevent faulty change and failure of change between the two-wheel drive and the four wheel drive due to difference between revolution speeds of driving and driven rotation members by inhibiting at least change from the two-wheel drive to the four-wheel drive when a vehicle is detected for the high speed drive condition. CONSTITUTION:A transfer equipment 9 contains a H/L changing mechanism 21 which sides a sleeve 20 on a cylindrical member, whereby controlling a deceleration mechanism 14 to change the transmission ratio to the high or the low speed range. Said equipment 9 also contains a driving mode changing mechanism 34 which slides a sleeve 31 to change a center differential gear 22 to the free position or to the locked position, whereby changing the drive to the two-wheel mode or the four-wheel mode. The sleeve 31 is driven by an electric motor 36 via a shift rod 33. In this case, when the high speed driving condition is detected on the bases of detected signals from a throttle opening sensor and a car speed sensor, said mechanism 32 is inhibited to make change from the two-wheel drive mode to the four-wheel drive mode.
