This steering wheel includes a rigid skeleton provided with a central core 4 and embedded in a foam material 6 covered with a skin 8 which is pleasant to look at and to touch. The central core 4 is formed of a hollow casing whose bottom 14 and cover are each pierced with an orifice and are fixed to one another in a sealed fashion on the one hand at their periphery and, on the other hand, by a cylindrical partition surrounding the orifices and delimiting a passage 10 for a steering wheel shaft, the orifice in the cover being pierced at the bottom with a recess capable of receiving a nut for fixing the steering wheel shaft. <IMAGE>
